The Children’s Center has again been selected to be a charity partner for the Arts, Beats & Eats festival.

Now in its 16th year, Ford Arts, Beats & Eats Presented by FirstMerit Bank takes place in Downtown Royal Oak. The festival will offer more than 200 performances on ten stages, a highly ranked Juried Fine Arts Show, local restaurants with some of the finest cuisine in metro Detroit and international, regional and local attractions that will make the city of Royal Oak the premier destination for Labor Day weekend 2013.

We need 70 Volunteers! Gather your family and friends!

Volunteer Shift:

• Saturday, August 31, 2013
• 1:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. (rain or shine)
• Please arrive at the shuttle lot no later than 1:00 p.m.

The brief volunteer orientation will begin at 1:30 p.m. All 70 volunteers need to be present at this time. Food vouchers will be distributed to those in attendance at orientation.

Volunteer parking will be at Royal Oak High School, 1500 Lexington, Royal Oak, MI 48073 (corner of 13 Mile Road and Crooks Road- enter off of Crooks ) again this year. Shuttle busses will run continuous loops from this lot to the festival.

Volunteer Duties:

• Volunteers are needed to collect tickets
• wrist-band
• greet/direct guests and should be able to walk/stand for the duration of the shift

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, all-weekend wristband (so you can return to the festival) and food vouchers.

Please note:

1. ALL children volunteers must be 16 years of age and accompanied by their parent/guardian.

2. Volunteer hours are based on TCC’s fiscal year.   The hours volunteered for this event will be counted towards the 20 hours needed to qualify for annual volunteer recognition awards.
