Event Details
George Winn, Chief Operation Officer – The Children’s Center and Kevin Fischer, Executive Director-NAMI Michigan welcome you to take part in the Crisis to Connection Imperative Kick Off.
George and Kevin will lead us in a discussion to create a collaborative infrastructure and implement a strategic plan to support Black boys in Detroit and Wayne County.
We will hear from 2 young men faced with the challenges of trauma and systemic racism that has impacted their life journey to young adulthood. Following this conversation, in breakout groups, we will discuss the gaps that our systems face and what we, together, can do in supporting Black boys to live their dreams.
Some believe that we can’t defeat racism, poverty and childhood trauma. We say we can, but only together. Your presence and participation are requested so that the work can begin!
